We are very excited to kick off 5th week with our guest Nick Robinson, in what promises to be our biggest event of term. An Oxford alumnus, Robinson is a world-renowned journalist and currently works as a presenter on the BBC's Today programme. His extensive career has seen him hold a number of similarly high-ranking positions in journalism and broadcasting, most notably his 10-year stint as Political Editor for the BBC.
In his student days, Robinson was a prominent figure in the Young Conservatives and was elected President of the Oxford University Conservative Association. Robinson has always maintained that regardless of his politics he will 'ask the questions that need asking’. It is largely down to this approach that he has earned a reputation for his straightforward, often provocative approach to journalism, famously coming under fire from George W Bush during his time in office.
In particular given the current political climate, this promises to be a lively and engaging discussion about Robinson's career.
There will, as always, be plenty of time for audience questions.
This event is taking place at Lady Margaret Hall on Monday 11th November 12-2pm. Committee members will be stationed at the Lodge to point you in the right direction.
