Joining the Oxford University Media Society Hilary 2020 committee is a fantastic opportunity to get involved with one of Oxford’s most exciting and fastest growing societies. Over the last few terms we’ve hosted a range of prominent speakers including former Political Editor of the BBC, Nick Robinson, award-winning feminist author, Scarlett Curtis, Editor-in-chief of Bloomberg News, John Micklethwait, and CEO of VICE Europe, Matt Elek.
Being on committee is a chance to get stuck in with the running of the society. Working alongside a team of talented individuals, you’ll have the chance to pick up a whole new set of skills, ranging from leadership and management techniques to marketing and graphic design. It’s also a great opportunity to meet new people from across the university and to network with prospective employers. You’ll also be rewarded with perks such as OUMS stash, exclusive drinks receptions with speakers, dinners and some of the best committee socials of any Oxford society.
We welcome applications from any students across the university, regardless of age, subject and past experience. Whether you are passionate about the media or simply want to get stuck in with a fast-growing and high profile society, we have a wide range of positions available across our Executive, Marketing, Events and Sponsorship teams.
